Rebecca Crenshaw is a New Orleans-based teaching artist and musician. Throughout Rebecca's life, teaching music and performing music have fed each other - without one, there would not be the other.  She taught in New Orleans public schools for 9 years, during which she has built two elementary strings programs from the ground up, started her own private studio, and written arts integrated curriculum with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. She currently works as Education Consultant for the LPO, conducts violin lessons from her home studio, and teaches yoga throughout the city.

Rebecca performs with several ensembles that span over multiple genres. Ensembles she performs with include Baby Grand, Samantha Fish, Little Maker, Alexandra  Scott and Her Magical Band, Kelcy Mae, and many others. She has performed with Mumford and Sons, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Judith Owen and Ronnie Spector and recorded with Arcade Fire and Alex Ebert.  She writes and performs music for the dance company Flock, lead by Meyrl Murman.
